What If We’re Not Listed?
In the event that your insurance company does not yet list Tallahassee Podiatry as a provider, then we’ll accept your payment and provide you with all of the necessary information for you to file with your company.

Medicare Guidelines – “Routine Foot Care”
Many of our patients have Medicare as their primary medical insurance. Unfortunately, Medicare does not pay for routine foot care such as cutting or removal of corns and calluses, trimming of nails and other hygienic care. However, Medicare does help pay for some routine foot care if you are being treated by a medical doctor for a medical condition affecting your legs or feet (such as diabetes or peripheral vascular disease) which requires the routine care be performed by a Podiatrist or by a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy.

Medicare also helps pay for any covered service of a licensed Podiatrist to treat injuries and diseases of the foot. Examples of common problems include ingrown toenails (red, infected, painful), hammertoe deformities, bunion deformities and heel spurs. Patients who do not meet these strict medical criteria will be responsible for charges incurred for these services. We are not permitted by law to bill Medicare for non-covered claims.
